Alicia D'Anella graduated from the University of Pennsylvania where she majored in Psychology. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rutgers School of Law – Camden, where she was Associate Notes Editor for the Journal of Law and Religion. She was also a top oralist in the Hunter Moot Court competition, and later served as a Board Member.

While attending law school, Alicia interned at United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She also interned at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office, assisting senior District Attorneys in the Family Violence and Sexual Assault unit in the preparation of major felony trials and serving as a certified legal intern in the Municipal Court Unit.

After graduating from Rutgers, Alicia served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Colleen A. Maier in the Gloucester County Superior Court, Family Part. Prior to joining Comegno Law Group, Alicia was an associate at a South Jersey law firm, concentrating her practice in family law, litigation and municipal government representation.

Alicia concentrates her practice in the representation of public school districts, and related educational entities. She has represented clients in state and federal court, as well as administrative agencies. She provides counsel on all aspects of labor and employment matters, and has extensive experience in successfully representing clients in tenure arbitrations. Alicia has experience in every facet of construction litigation on behalf of contractors, owners, builders, architects, engineers and other associated professionals in defense of construction defect claims, constructions site injuries, property damage and delay claims. She is well-versed in all phases of government procurement, from bidding to contract preparation and review. Alicia regularly attends public meetings, and assists public entities in complying with the Open Public Meeting Act, and Open Public Records Act. She has lectured on a variety of education law topics, and regularly provides presentations, and in-services, to the firm’s clients.

Alicia has served as Municipal Prosecutor for the Borough of Merchantville since 2011. On behalf of the Borough, she prosecutes DWI cases, property maintenance violations as well as various other traffic and criminal offenses. Her prior experience representing government entities encompassed a broad array of litigation matters, personnel issues, bid compliance, OPRA requests, environmental issues, and drafting of ordinances.

Alicia is a member of the bars of the State of New Jersey and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. She is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, as well as both the Gloucester County and Burlington County Bar Associations.
