Areas of Practice

Education

Sean M. McBratnie concentrates his practice in the representation of public and independent schools through New Jersey and Pennsylvania with an emphasis of litigating Special Education Due Process Petitions. Asides from Special Education litigation, Sean provides legal counsel and guidance to a variety of learning institutions, and to other commercial entities and individuals, to help them navigate through an ever-changing legal landscape and world.

Prior to joining the Comegno Group, Sean was a part of a litigation team that primarily focused on defending premises liability and employment claims for a variety of businesses. During this time Sean took an active role in the court room appearing for various hearings, conferences, depositions and mediations. Sean also helped clients navigate through various transactions and ensure businesses were complaint with the law.

Sean received his Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy from Furman University in 2015. Subsequently, Sean began his legal studies and graduated from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law in 2018. In law school Sean had the incredible opportunity to clerk for two judges that preside in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. There, Sean received a behind the scenes experience wherein he learned the process through which judges think when rendering decisions, and how claims are properly adjudicated before a court.

Sean is a member of good standing for the New Jersey and Pennsylvania bars. He enjoys attending / hosting gatherings of family and friends, and of course trips to the Jersey shore where he enjoys reading on the beach.
