posted Thu, Sep 15, 2011

In October 2011, John Comegno will be delivering full-day seminars in Central and Southern New Jersey on the topic of Section 504 in New Jersey.

The presentation, “Section 504 in New Jersey: An Updated Guide to Identifying & Planning for Students with Disabilities in the Schools”, will explore important and timely considerations for Section 504 usage and implementation.  Attendees can anticipate a variety of topics pertaining to Section 504 addressed, including the following questions:

  • What are the eligibility criteria under Section 504?

  • What is the school district’s obligation to identify and evaluate students? Are you over identifying?

  • What are the “child find” obligations under Section 504? How do they compare with those under IDEIA?

  • How are discipline and behavioral issues handled differently with a Section 504 student vs. a special education student under IDEIA and ADA?

Please join John on Friday, October 14 in Parsippany and Thursday, October 20 in Cherry Hill.
