University of Pennsylvania School of Law presentation by Mark Toscano

On October 19, 2011, Mark Toscano was invited to speak with students at the University of Pennsylvania School of Law about the practice of Education Law and the responsibilities and challenges that come with being an Education Law attorney.

In his presentation, Mr. Toscano discussed a variety of practice areas that are encompassed within Education Law including Special Education, federal and state anti-discrimination laws, the Open Public Meetings Act and Sunshine Laws, student discipline, staff discipline, tenure rights, collective bargaining agreements and negotiations, First Amendment/Free Speech issues, School and Legal Ethical issues, and Board policy analysis, revision and development. Mr. Toscano also discussed with participants how to deal with controversial issues and legal issues surrounding the student discipline process.
