Special Education Workshop presented by R. Taylor Ruilova
On November 8, 2011, Taylor Ruilova was invited to conduct a workshop for child study team members and special education administrators as part of a day-long professional development program.
The workshop, entitled “No More Doing Business as Usual in New Jersey Special Education,” highlighted recent trends in special education case law in the State of New Jersey, as well as best practice tips to improve the identification, development and implementation of programs for disabled students. In addition, the participants engaged in developing solutions for both hypothetical and real-world issues presented in the special education context. The workshop covered multiple areas of common concern involving the provision special education and related services, including evaluations, crucial data collection, changes in levels of service, and dealing with difficult cases and litigation.
